As the unmistakable signs of spring make their appearance, residents are gearing up for the eagerly awaited annual tradition of spring cleaning.

Mark your calendars for the 2024 Electronics & Hazardous Waste Recycling Event hosted by Senior Village on Saturday, March 30, from 9 am to noon at the MountainView Clubhouse lower parking lot. This event provides an opportunity to part ways with those hard-to-dispose-of items that have been gathering dust in your garage for months, if not years. At the event, you’ll find a bustling hub of activity, with nearly 20 Senior Village volunteers and our partner in e-waste management, Suburban Miners.

All SaddleBrooke residents are encouraged to drop off items. Senior Village volunteers will be on hand to assist with unloading vehicles, shred hard drives to bits, and ensure the destruction of data stored on computers and tablets. The cost is just $10 per carload, with an additional $10 fee for flat-panel TVs larger than 24” and $20 for CRT, DLP and projection TVs. If you will be out of town on March 30, feel free to ask a neighbor to drop off your recyclables.

A comprehensive list of accepted items makes it easy for residents to responsibly dispose of a wide array of household clutter. Recyclable items at this event include electronics, batteries, computers/tablets, TVs, phones, paint, pesticides, fertilizers, house-cleaning chemicals, fluorescent lights and more. Any item that can be plugged in, is battery-powered, or contains metal may be recycled on March 30. However, certain items such as books, cardboard, clothing, furniture, mattresses and paper cannot be recycled here. If you have a question about whether something can be recycled, please contact Suburban Miners at (520) 406-7446.

This eco-friendly initiative is made possible through the ongoing collaboration between Senior Village and Suburban Miners, a family-owned e-waste facility. Now in its fourth consecutive year, this partnership highlights a shared commitment to environmentally friendly disposal practices.
